Pre-fall 2013: Our top 5 looks

We live in the Caribbean, where there’s no fall…but damn, do we still want it all! Here are our top 5 favourite looks, in no order. Warm weather or not, we’ll be inspired by them somehow. Ankle boots to Hi-Lo? Jumpsuits to West Mall? But of course.

LOOK 1: BAND OF OUTSIDERS

All the coolest girls we know borrow from the boys. Throw away everything else—this is the new powersuit you’ll want to be wearing to work and beyond. Pair with motorcycle boots, and you’re done.

LOOK 2: THEYSKENS’ THEORY

Yes, yes, yes. A modern update of a 90s look—complete with boxy purse and rugged boot. This could be our new uniform.

LOOK 3: HELMUT LANG

The suits…those pants…those boyish dresses. There was too much from Helmut Lang to like. But we fell in love with this draped, ombre-dyed dress—it evokes ruined bedsheets in the best possible way.

LOOK 4: REBECCA MINKOFF

After looking at this collection, there nothing we want to do more than borrow an oversized jacket from one of our male friends—and never give it back.

And look, you get two looks for the price of one. We had to include those embellished, loose-fitting slacks, for no other reason apart from their sheer gorgeousness.

LOOK 5: LOUIS VUITTON

Even though we were born decades after, our heart really belongs in the 60s—which is why we hold such a special place in our hearts for these tough-but-girly pieces. We predict that the 60s will continue to inspire the Fall 2013 collections just as they inspired the summer (see Lauren Moffatt’s lighthearted Spring 2013 take here). Be still, hearts!
